What is Breathwork?
Breathwork is a term used to refer to breathing pattern exercises that are used to improve physical, mental and/or spiritual health. The practice is conscious, which means the client is actively involved breathing in and out through the mouth, making it the ideal practice for those who have trouble meditating.
The breathing pattern is called Pranayama, a 3 part circular pattern. The client inhales into the belly, and then the chest, and exhales, all to music. This practice assists in healing past wounds, both physical and emotional. It can help to change old patterns and habits, and release emotional pain and stress. As you become more deeply involved in the session, you will feel yourself releasing the pain of the physical body, and healing from the inside out.
Essentially, Breathwork can rewire your brain and shift your energy to a more positive outlook filled with peace and gratitude.
